Milk Shakes and Sundaes

When Edwin was in high school he and his parents would go to the Green Lantern drive in for milk shakes.  It was right across from the ISU campus.  At the Green Lantern, they would bring out the shakes to you and put them on trays that hooked to the car window.  His favorite was root beer with an extra shot of root beer.  He later took Denece there and her favorite was the hot fudge sundae.  She never did like a milk shake.

A Bit of Lipstick

Denece remembers how embarrassed she was one time when Edwin had brought her home after a date and Alene was out in the yard on her trike.  She taunted her that “Edwin’s wearing lipstick!”
Alene started singing "Edwin's wearing lipstick, Edwin's wearing lipstick" to the whole neighborhood.

Eloping

Edwin and Denece helped Bobby and Rita elope.  Edwin hid the car near the police station.  Both parents wanted the kids found but it was too late.  John Dean Perkins, was an older cousin and Chief of Police of Pocatello.  He often said he would have liked to catch Edwin doing something so that he could have brought him home to his parents.

Who is that Guy?

One time Denece Argyle went to Pocatello with her speech class.  She was giving her speech when Edwin walked into the auditorium.  She gave her ten minute speech in three of four minutes.  Her teacher asked, “Who is that guy?  I want to kill him!”
